Queens Erg-A-Thon

Eeg-a-thon2

KINGSTON, Ont.- The Queen’s Rowing team held its annual fundraiser earlier this month to help raise funds for Right to Play.

The event consisted of volunteers from the team who took shifts to keep 4 indoor rowing machines running for the 24 hours during which it was held. The Heavyweight and Lightweight teams kept the rivalry going by facing off in a one hour distance challenge; eight members on each team worked together to try and chalk up as many kilometres in the allotted time.

The rowers could be seen in the JDUC or outside on the corner of Union and University, doing their part to support a charity that helps provide children in third world countries with the opportunity to participate in sports.

Thanks to the contributions of Queen’s students, the team managed to raise $787.70 dollars for Right to Play.
