I got involved with Right To Play because I love sports and I love kids, and I wanted to help make a difference in the lives of children around the world. The McMaster RTP club was the perfect opportunity for me, plus I met tons of amazing students dedicated to this worthy cause! - Cathy Conlin, Club President, Hamilton ON

Department Games
Brock University’s annual Department Games is a friendly but competitive multi-sport day between the students of the Physical Education and Kinesiology program and the Sports Management program.
Over the course of the day, student teams representing either PEKN or SPMA will compete in different sports and games for points, with the overall winner of the day gaining bragging rights until the next Department Games are held.
This has become an annual fundraiser for Right To Play since 2006, with all the proceeds from Department Games being donated to Right To Play.

"Road to the Final" Fundraiser
Seven enterprising post-graduate students at George Brown College put their affinity for soccer and Right To Play to good use during the World Cup. A World Cup Party at Up-Front Bar and Grill during the Italy-Germany semifinal exceeded all expectations, drawing more than 60 people and raising $300 for Right To Play.
During half time, winners of raffles and bingo and trivia games walked away with soccer balls, sports apparel, gift certificates and running shoes. The event had something for everyone and was a tremendous success.
Thanks to Sport and Event Marketing students Matt Merko, Revin Samuel, Igor Simoes, Tomoyuki Masada, Keita Eimaeda, Sasha Vuletic and Benny Hakak for organizing a great event and supporting Right To Play!

Humber Polytechnic in Toronto, ON, invited Right To Play and Athlete Ambassador Michelle Guerette to lead two workshops for Humber students, coaching them in some of the techniques world-class athletes use to help disadvantaged children around the world escape war and poverty through sport.
Michelle Gurette is an American athlete who won a silver medal in rowing at the Beijing Olympics and now works with other athletes who spread the message of Right to Play.
About 60 Fitness and Health Promotion students came to the workshops, and learned a lot of valuable information while playing Right To Play games!

Bake Sale and Holiday Party
The students of Calgary house at Lester B. Pearson College of the Pacific in Victoria BC spent an entire day baking an array of desserts to sell to raise funds for Right To Play. The bake sale was a huge success and they managed to sell everything they had baked while increasing awareness for Right To Play.
Over the Christmas holiday, they threw a holiday party with a live band and baked goods (again!... they love to bake!). They posted information all around the house about Right To Play and inevitably it became a hot topic of conversation throughout the evening. Their party was a huge hit and they did an incredible job of increasing awareness for Right To Play and the power of sport for development.
